Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Touch Business Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with a touchscreen display and included pen input. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz. The system provides 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB solid-state drive for storage.

Who this suits and who it does not

This device suits professionals needing a portable touchscreen laptop with a durable keyboard and docking connector for shared workspaces. It is not for buyers who require a higher resolution display, modern wireless standards, or an operating system still receiving security updates.

Deciding specification: 12.5-inch HD touchscreen

The 12.5-inch HD touchscreen with 1366x768 resolution and pen support is the feature that determines fit. If your workflow depends on direct screen interaction and portability, this specification meets that need; if you need more screen detail or a larger workspace, it does not.

Questions about this item

Will the VGA and DisplayPort outputs on this X220 drive the older monitors I already own?

The laptop provides one VGA port and one DisplayPort, so you can connect legacy VGA screens or newer DisplayPort panels directly without adapters.

How can I verify the Core i7-2640M is reaching its 3.50 GHz turbo speed under load?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or a tool like CPU-Z while running a demanding task; the reported clock should climb toward 3.50 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

Does the package include the ThinkPad pen for the 12.5" touch display, or must I buy it separately?

The supplier title lists “Touch + Pen Tablet Computer,” indicating the pen is included in the box with the laptop.
