Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Business Touch

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5" business laptop with a touch display and included pen. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 500GB hard drive. The HD panel resolves at 1366x768 and uses shared video memory.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

Mobile professionals needing a durable, lightweight chassis with a spill-resistant keyboard and docking compatibility will value the ThinkPad design. Buyers who want more storage speed, a solid-state drive, or a newer operating system should look at other models.

The Specification That Decides Fit

The 12.5" HD touchscreen running at 1366x768 resolution is the primary factor. If your workflow requires touch input on a compact, portable screen this panel fits; if you need higher pixel density or a non-touch display, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

How fast does the Core i7-2640M actually run when Turbo Boost hits 3.5 GHz inside the X220?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.5 GHz on a single active core; with both cores loaded it sustains a lower multiplier, so real-world speed depends on cooling and workload.

What external displays can the VGA and DisplayPort outputs drive at 1366x768?

Both ports support the panel's native 1366x768 and higher resolutions; VGA is limited to analog signalling while DisplayPort carries digital video and audio to modern monitors.

Does the 12.5 inch touch chassis accept the standard ThinkPad dock used by T and W series?

Yes, the single docking connector on the bottom mates with the shared ThinkPad dock, providing power, extra ports and a mechanical lock for desk use.
