Portable Business Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5 inch touch-enabled notebook built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Professional 64-bit on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with 4GB of DDR3 memory. A 1TB hard drive provides storage capacity for documents and applications.

Sustained Performance

The dual-core processor reaches a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz to handle typical office workloads. Shared system memory supports the integrated graphics for the 1366x768 HD touch display. Active Protection System helps safeguard the mechanical drive during transport.

4GB Memory Limit

The system ships with 4GB of DDR3 RAM which determines multitasking headroom for modern business software. Buyers who need more memory for virtual machines or large datasets should verify upgrade options before purchase. The 1TB hard drive offers capacity but not solid-state speed.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the i7-2640M run during all-day workloads?

The Core i7-2640M has a 3.50 GHz turbo frequency and relies on the ThinkPad X220 cooling design with Active Protection System; fan noise rises under sustained load but stays within typical business-laptop limits.

What cables or peripherals do I need to start using the 1366x768 touch display and VGA port?

The 12.5" HD touch screen works out of the box with Windows 10 Pro; for external monitors connect a standard VGA cable or a DisplayPort cable to the built-in ports.

Will my existing DDR3 modules and ThinkPad dock work with this X220?

The system uses DDR3 memory and includes the ThinkPad docking connector shared with T, L and W series, so compatible DDR3 upgrades and existing ThinkPad docks will function.
