Convertible business tablet

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet is a 12.5-inch convertible laptop with a touch display and included pen. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor that reaches 3.50 GHz. The system provides 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive for local storage.

Mobile professionals needing pen input

This device suits users who require a durable, portable machine for handwritten notes, signatures or on-site form completion. Buyers who want a solid-state drive, a higher-resolution panel or a modern operating system still receiving security updates should look elsewhere.

Pen and docking expand utility

The bundled digitiser pen enables precise inking directly on the 1366x768 HD touchscreen for annotation and creative tasks. A dedicated docking connector allows instant connection to shared ThinkPad workstations with external monitors via VGA or DisplayPort.

Questions about this item

What type of memory modules does the 16GB DDR3 configuration require for upgrades?

The system uses DDR3 memory; the installed 16GB fills the available slots, so any upgrade would require replacing the existing modules with compatible DDR3 sticks.

Will the VGA and DisplayPort outputs drive a legacy 1366x768 monitor alongside the 12.5" touchscreen?

Yes, the 1 x VGA and 1 x DisplayPort can each drive an external display at 1366x768 while the built-in 12.5" touchscreen remains active.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-2640M is reaching its 3.50 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager or a hardware monitoring utility in Windows 7 Home Premium and watch the CPU clock speed rise to 3.50 GHz during heavy workloads.
