Business Touch Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5" touch-enabled notebook built for mobile professionals who need pen input and a durable chassis. It ships new with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-2640M processor reaching 3.50 GHz, 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 160GB solid-state drive. The HD display runs at 1366x768 resolution.

Installation and Common Issues

As a complete laptop the unit requires no internal assembly; simply connect power and peripherals. The integrated touchscreen and digitiser support pen input out of the box. Buyers should note the operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, which no longer receives security updates from Microsoft, so an OS upgrade is advisable before connecting to a network.

Pre-Purchase Checks

Verify that your essential applications run on Windows 7 or plan an upgrade path to a supported operating system. Confirm that 160GB of solid-state storage meets your local data requirements, as the specifications list no secondary hard drive. Ensure your external displays accept VGA or DisplayPort input, and that 802.11b/g/n wireless coverage is sufficient for your environment.
