Compact business ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5-inch ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a durable, lightweight Windows 8.1 Pro machine. It combines an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB DDR3 RAM and a 128GB solid-state drive. The HD IPS touchscreen supports finger input for direct screen interaction.

Suits frequent travellers needing MIL-SPEC

This laptop suits users who value spill-resistant keyboards, fingerprint security, and carbon-fibre reinforcement for daily transit. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a higher-resolution display should look at alternative models. The 1366 x 768 panel and fixed 8GB memory limit multitasking headroom for intensive workloads.

128GB SSD capacity decides fit

The 128GB drive determines whether the X240 can hold your operating system, applications, and active project files without external storage. If your workflow demands a larger local library, this capacity will be the limiting factor. Verify your space requirements before choosing this configuration.

Questions about this item

Does the 8 GB DDR3 memory in this X240 need to be upgraded or replaced later?

The memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded or replaced by the user.

What limits the Core i7-4600U when the laptop runs demanding tasks for a long time?

The 15 W thermal design power caps sustained clock speeds once the cooling system saturates.

How loud and hot does the X240 get when it is used all day?

The fan stays quiet during light work and spins up under load; the magnesium chassis spreads heat evenly.
