ThinkPad X240 business ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5" business ultrabook built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 8.1 Pro on an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS touch display adds direct input for presentations and annotation.

Suits travellers needing durability and touch.

The carbon-fibre roll cage and MIL-SPEC testing suit frequent flyers and field workers who need a light, rugged chassis. Buyers who want more storage than 256GB, more memory than 8GB, or a newer operating system than Windows 8.1 Pro should look at something else.

Bundled features support secure mobile work

The backlit spill-resistant keyboard and fingerprint reader enable comfortable, secure log-ins in low-light environments. Bluetooth 4.0 connects peripherals without cables, while the single headset jack handles audio and microphone duties. No optical drive is included.

Questions about this item

What type of memory module does the X240's 8GB DDR3 require for an upgrade?

The X240 uses DDR3 memory; any additional module must match that type and the existing 8GB capacity.

Will my Bluetooth 4.0 headset pair reliably with the X240's built-in radio?

Yes, the X240 includes Bluetooth 4.0, so a 4.0 headset will connect at its rated specification.

How can I verify the 12.5" FHD touch panel is operating at 1920 x 1080 after setup?

Open Display Settings in Windows 8.1 Pro and confirm the resolution reads 1920 x 1080; then test touch response across the screen.
