12.5" FHD IPS Touch Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a new 12.5 inch business ultrabook with a Full HD IPS touch display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory. The carbon fibre roll cage and MIL-SPEC testing target users who need a rugged, portable device for mobile work.

500GB HDD and 8GB DDR3 capacity

The 500GB hard drive stores operating system files, documents and local media without relying on cloud sync. Eight gigabytes of DDR3 memory handles typical office multitasking and browser workloads. Heavy video editing, large database work or modern gaming will exceed the available storage speed and memory headroom.

Backlit keyboard and Bluetooth 4.0

The spill-resistant, backlit keyboard allows accurate typing in low-light conditions such as flights or dim offices. Bluetooth 4.0 connects wireless mice, keyboards or headsets without a dongle. The absence of an optical drive and solid-state storage means software installs and large file transfers depend on USB ports or network links.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-4600U and DDR3 memory keep pace with my existing USB 2.0 peripherals?

The processor runs up to 3.3 GHz with 4M cache and the 8GB DDR3 RAM handles multitasking, while the two USB ports support your current 2.0 devices without adapters.

How can I verify the 12.5" FHD IPS touch display and Windows 10 Pro are functioning correctly after setup?

Check that the screen shows 1920 x 1080 resolution and responds to touch input, then confirm Windows 10 Pro is activated in Settings and the backlit keyboard illuminates in low light.

Does the package include the 500GB hard drive and AC adapter, or must I buy storage and power separately?

The 500GB hard drive and 8GB DDR3 memory are installed; Windows 10 Pro is pre-loaded. The AC adapter is included so no separate power purchase is needed.
