Lenovo ThinkPad X240 Business Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5 inch business ultrabook running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 128GB solid state drive. The HD IPS display offers a 1366 x 768 resolution without touch input. A fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard support secure mobile work.

Upgrade from older dual-core ultrabooks

Moving from a previous dual-core system to the i7-4600U brings four threads and speeds up to 3.3 GHz for heavier multitasking. The solid state drive replaces a mechanical hard drive to cut boot times and improve application responsiveness. The jump is worth it when daily workflows involve multiple office applications or frequent travel requiring MIL-SPEC tested durability.

Suits mobile professionals needing a vetted fleet

This configuration suits IT buyers standardising on a proven 12.5 inch form factor with spill-resistant keyboard and fingerprint security. Buyers who want more storage than 128GB or a higher resolution panel should look at something else. Users requiring a touchscreen or discrete graphics will not find those features here.
