Workstation for AI workloads

The ThinkStation P3 Tower Gen 2 combines an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 vPro processor with an integrated NPU and an NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation graphics card with 16 GB GDDR6. It targets designers, engineers and students who need on-device AI processing for complex simulations and CAD workflows. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit pre-installed.

PCIe Gen5 storage constraint

The 1 TB SSD uses an M.2 2280 form factor with a PCIe Gen5 interface and Opal encryption. Throughput is limited by the platform's PCIe Gen5 implementation and the drive's TLC architecture. The single drive bay offers no factory-configured redundancy for critical datasets.

Upgrade from entry workstations

This configuration replaces systems limited to 32 GB memory and consumer-grade GPUs without certified drivers. The jump is worth it when 64 GB DDR5-5600MT/s across two 32 GB UDIMMs and ISV-certified RTX graphics become necessary for larger assemblies or GPU-accelerated AI inference. The 1.00 lbs weight figure appears inconsistent with a tower chassis.
