Workstation with 20-core i7-14700K and RTX A4000

The Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower pairs a 20-core i7-14700K processor running at 3.4 GHz with a 5.6 GHz turbo frequency alongside 64GB of system memory. A 1TB NVMe drive provides fast storage for the Windows 11 Pro operating system. The NVIDIA RTX A4000 adds 16GB of GDDR6 video memory for professional graphics workloads such as rendering and simulation.

Single-slot GPU thermals in a tower chassis

The RTX A4000 is the most powerful single-slot GPU for professionals, allowing the tower chassis to manage thermals without the bulk of a dual-slot card. Windows 11 Pro and the robust i7 processor deliver advanced performance for demanding multithreaded tasks while maintaining efficiency. The system includes Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless LAN with high-gain 5dBi antennas for network connectivity.

Curved 34-inch UWQHD monitor

The bundled ViewFinity S65UA 34-inch display offers a 3440 x 1440 UWQHD resolution with 1000R curvature, 100 Hz refresh rate, and 1.07 billion colours across HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and a USB hub. The MK650 wireless keyboard and mouse provide 24 shortcut keys, customisable keys, multi-device connectivity and SilentTouch technology. A gel mouse pad and wrist rest are also included for comfort. Not suited for buyers who need more internal drive bays or additional GPU slots beyond the single-slot design.

Questions about this item

How is the RTX A4000 installed in the ThinkStation P3 Tower, and what step is often missed?

The RTX A4000 is a single-slot GPU that installs into the PCIe x16 slot; the step often missed is connecting the required auxiliary power cable from the PSU to the card.

What maintenance or replacement will the ViewFinity S65UA 34 monitor need later?

The monitor has no user-serviceable parts; if the backlight or panel degrades, the entire unit would need professional service or replacement.

What limit appears first on the i7-14700K under sustained all-core workloads?

The 20-core processor will hit its thermal limit before power limits, causing clocks to drop from the 5.6 GHz turbo toward the 3.4 GHz base frequency.
