Professional Handheld Microphone

The Lewitt MTP 740 CM is a dynamic handheld cardioid condenser microphone built for live performance and studio recording. It uses the same 1-inch gold-layered diaphragm capsule found in the flagship MTP 940 CM to capture a natural, detailed sound across the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range.

Build Integration

The cardioid polar pattern provides strong rear rejection, isolating the intended source from stage monitors or room reflections. An internal rubber-cushioned suspension isolates the capsule and electronics from handling vibration, so the microphone can be used directly on a stand or held without transmitting mechanical noise.

Sustained Session Behaviour

The large diaphragm maintains consistent transient response during extended sets, preserving detail without compression artifacts. The shock-mounted capsule assembly continues to suppress low-frequency rumble from footfall or stand vibration over long periods, keeping the signal clean from the first song to the encore.

Questions about this item

How does the 1-inch gold-layered diaphragm handle extended vocal sessions?

The large diaphragm with ultra-thin gold captures 20 Hz to 20 kHz, giving full-bodied transient response that stays consistent through long takes.

What is the operating noise and heat level when the mic runs continuously on stage?

As a passive dynamic condenser it produces no self-noise or heat; only the preamp adds any thermal load.

Which connector and phantom voltage does the MTP 740 CM need from my interface?

It uses a standard XLR output and requires phantom power from the preamp or interface you already own.
