Dual-slot reader for CFexpress Type A and UHS-II SD

This Lexar reader accepts CFexpress Type A and UHS-II SD cards in a single compact unit. It targets photographers and videographers who need to offload high-resolution photos and video footage quickly while working on location or in the studio.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface capped at 10 Gbps

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection provides a 10 Gbps link to the host computer. Actual throughput is limited by each card type: CFexpress Type A cards reach up to 900 MB/s, while UHS-II SD cards reach up to 312 MB/s. Both cables are included for Type-C and Type-A ports.

Card-type speed ceiling decides suitability

If your workflow relies on CFexpress Type A media, the 900 MB/s ceiling matches the card specification. If you only use UHS-II SD cards, the reader cannot exceed 312 MB/s regardless of the USB link. Buyers needing faster SD throughput or support for other card formats should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the CFexpress Type A slot or the SD UHS-II slot for my workflow?

Use the CFexpress Type A slot for cards rated up to 900 MB/s and the SD UHS-II slot for cards rated up to 312 MB/s; both are available on the same reader.

What does the 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 rating actually deliver when I plug this into my computer?

The 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface lets the reader move data at up to 900 MB/s from CFexpress Type A cards and up to 312 MB/s from SD UHS-II cards, limited by each card’s own speed.

Which USB standard does the LRW530U-RNBNG use and what speed ceiling does it impose?

It uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps, so the reader’s maximum throughput is capped at that bandwidth regardless of the card inserted.
