10.1-inch LTE tablet with stylus

The LG G Pad 5 ships new with a 10.1-inch 1920x1200 edge-to-edge display, Snapdragon 821 processor at 2.34GHz, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. It runs Android 9.0 and includes a Mazery stylus pen with hybrid mesh fibre tip. Dual front speakers with Dolby Atoms and a fingerprint sensor complete the core feature set.

LTE bands and expandable storage limits

Mobile data uses LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 66 and 71 with roaming on bands 3, 7 and 20; WCDMA covers bands 1, 2, 4, 5 and 8. A microSD card up to 512GB adds extra space, sold separately. Wireless connectivity relies on 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2, while the sole wired port is MicroUSB.

Easy setup with MicroUSB and stylus caveats

Power on, insert a nano-SIM for LTE and sign into Google to begin; the fingerprint sensor enables one-touch unlock after enrolment. The included stylus pairs instantly for note-taking on the WUXGA screen. The non-removable 8200 mAh battery charges via MicroUSB only, so faster USB-C charging is not supported. Buyers who need USB-C video output or expandable memory beyond 512GB should look elsewhere.
