What this cable does

This cable lets you charge compatible Asus laptops from any USB-C Power Delivery charger. It carries up to 100W through a 1.8m nylon-braided lead terminated with a reversible USB-C plug on one side and a 4.0 x 1.35mm barrel tip on the other.

Installation and common issues

Plug the USB-C end into a PD charger rated at least as high as the laptop's input requirement, then connect the barrel tip to the laptop. If the charger is below the needed wattage — for example a 65W laptop fed from a 45W adapter — charging will not start. The cable is for power only and does not transmit data.

Limits of the USB-C PD interface

The cable supports a maximum of 100W, so laptops needing more power cannot be charged through it. It works only with devices that accept the 4.0 x 1.35mm tip and negotiate a compatible PD voltage; chargers without Power Delivery or with insufficient output will not work.
