Ultra-lightweight bat grip tape

Lizard Skins DSP Ultra Camo Bat Grip Tape is a 1.8 mm thick wrap designed for baseball and softball players who want a secure hold without added weight. The Durasoft Polymer backing provides a textured, slip-resistant surface that performs consistently in wet or dry conditions. It arrives pre-cut with a full adhesive back and includes a Finish Strip for a clean installation.

Check bat length and handle preference

Verify that your bat handle can accommodate a 39 inch wrap so the grip covers the desired area without excess. Confirm the 1.8 mm thickness matches your preferred feel, as thinner or thicker options will change vibration feedback and hand comfort. Ensure the handle surface is clean and dry before applying the adhesive backing for maximum bond strength.

Replaces worn or slippery factory grips

This tape upgrades from standard factory wraps that lose tackiness or tear after repeated use, restoring a consistent, vibration-damping surface. The jump is worth it when your current grip no longer prevents bat twist on off-centre contact or when hand fatigue appears late in games. It is not for players who prefer a padded, high-thickness grip or a completely smooth, non-textured finish.

Questions about this item

Does the 39-inch roll include the finishing strip or do I need to buy it separately?

The 39-inch roll comes with a pre-applied finishing strip, so nothing extra is required to complete the wrap.

Should I choose the 1.8 mm DSP Ultra or a different thickness for maximum vibration reduction?

The 1.8 mm DSP Ultra is the thinnest option in the range; it gives the most direct barrel feel while still cutting vibration through the Durasoft Polymer backing.

How does the 1.8 mm thickness affect bat feel compared with a standard factory grip?

At 1.8 mm the tape adds minimal bulk, letting you keep the original handle shape while the textured Durasoft Polymer cuts sting and stays tacky in wet or cold weather.
