Product Purpose & Ideal Users

Lizard Skins DSP Ultra MLB Bat Grip Tape is a Durasoft Polymer grip designed for baseball and softball players seeking improved handle control. It also serves athletes in hockey, lacrosse, cricket and racquet sports, plus users of canes, walkers or crutches wanting a secure, slip-resistant hold. The pre-cut roll fits wood, composite or aluminum bats and displays New York Yankees team colours and logos.

Thickness Options & Feel

Three thicknesses let you match cushion to preference: 0.5 mm adds virtually no handle bulk, 1.1 mm balances cushion with versatility and eases the transition to wood bats, while 1.8 mm delivers maximum vibration dampening for youth confidence. The Durasoft Polymer material stays lightweight, durable and slip-resistant in all weather, reducing hand stress so you can maintain a relaxed, controlled swing.

Installation & Versatility

Each roll measures 990 millimetres or 39 inches with pre-cut ends and a full adhesive back for straightforward wrapping on any compatible bat or handle. The grip conforms to wood, composite or aluminum shafts without adding unnecessary weight. Its multi-sport utility means a single roll can upgrade a baseball bat, a hockey stick, a cricket handle or a mobility aid, freeing you from buying separate specialised tapes for each activity.

Questions about this item

How do I apply the 1.1 mm DSP Ultra grip tape to my bat handle without wrinkles?

Clean the handle, peel the full adhesive backing, start at the knob and wrap tightly with slight overlap, using the pre-cut ends to finish cleanly at 39 inches.

When should I replace the Durasoft Polymer grip tape?

Replace it when the textured surface wears smooth, the adhesive loosens, or vibration dampening noticeably drops after extended play.

Will the 1.1 mm thickness still control vibration during a long tournament?

The 1.1 mm tape balances cushion and feel, reducing vibration effectively for sustained use, though heavier hitters may prefer the 1.8 mm option for maximum dampening.
