A 480W ATX power supply upgrade for Compaq Presario SR1400 series desktops with a 20+4 pin main connector, 12V P4, three Molex, two SATA and a floppy connector
This 480 W ATX power supply is a direct replacement for the original units shipped with Compaq Presario SR1400 desktop models. It provides the main 20+4 pin connector, a 12 V P4 connector, three Molex connectors, two SATA connectors and one floppy connector. The grey chassis and single fan match the factory form factor.
A single fan rated for low noise and ripple keeps temperatures stable during normal desktop workloads. Built-in safeguards include over-power protection, short-circuit protection and over-voltage protection. The unit meets the UL 1950 safety standard for information-technology equipment.
The 480 W rating adds headroom for extra drives or expansion cards that the original supply could not support. Buyers who need more connectors than the two SATA and three Molex ports provided here should look elsewhere. The jump is worthwhile when the existing supply has failed or when added components exceed the original wattage.

Connect the 20+4 pin plug to the motherboard, use the 12V P4 connector for CPU power, and secure the unit with four screws; the step often missed is attaching the P4 connector because the original supply may not have had one.
The single internal fan is the only moving part; clean dust from its intake every few months and replace the whole unit if the fan becomes noisy or stops spinning.
The 480 W total output ceiling is reached before any protection circuit trips, so continuous draw above that level will cause shutdown.
