Wired Gaming Mouse with 11 Buttons

The Logitech G502 SE Hero is a wired gaming mouse built around the Hero 16K optical sensor. It offers 11 customizable buttons and onboard memory for storing profiles directly on the device. Adjustable sensitivity ranges from 200 up to 16000 DPI. A tunable weight system accepts up to five 3.6g weights for personalized balance and feel.

Limits of Wired Optical Tracking

The wired USB connection provides consistent data transmission without battery constraints or wireless latency. The Hero 16K sensor tracks with zero smoothing, acceleration or filtering across the entire DPI range. Performance is bound by the physical sensor limits and the polling rate of the USB interface. Surface compatibility varies; optimal tracking requires a suitable mousepad or desk texture.

Upgrading from Basic Office Mice

This mouse replaces standard two-button office mice that lack programmable inputs and high-resolution sensors. The jump is worth it for users who need per-game profiles, on-the-fly DPI shifting, and adjustable weight distribution. It is not for buyers who want wireless freedom, a lighter chassis without added weights, or a smaller form factor for claw grips.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 200 DPI or 16000 DPI version of this mouse?

There is only one version; the sensor adjusts from 200 up to 16000 DPI so you choose the sensitivity in software.

What does the 16000 DPI figure mean once the mouse is in my hand?

It sets the maximum cursor speed the Hero 16K sensor can track without acceleration or smoothing across the full range.

Does the wired USB connection cap the 16000 DPI performance?

The wired link provides enough bandwidth for the sensor to deliver its full 16000 DPI range with no bottleneck.
