Logitech Z533 2.1 speaker system

The Logitech Z533 is a wired 2.1 multimedia speaker system designed for users who want room-filling sound from a desktop or living-room setup. Two satellites and a front-facing subwoofer deliver 60 watts RMS total power with a 120 watt peak rating. The system connects via 3.5 mm or RCA inputs to computers, consoles, televisions and mobile devices. A wired control pod puts volume, bass, power, a headphone jack and an auxiliary input within easy reach.

Connectivity and placement

The speaker system requires a mains supply from 100 to 240 V and two analogue audio sources — either a single 3.5 mm output or a pair of RCA outputs — which are both present on the subwoofer rear panel. Each satellite measures 6.69 by 3.93 by 3.34 inches and weighs 1.16 lbs, while the subwoofer measures 10.43 by 10.03 by 7.67 inches and weighs 8.82 lbs. The control pod adds a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a second 3.5 mm line input so a phone or tablet can be connected without unplugging the PC.

Rated satellite power is 2 x 15 watts RMS into 8 ohms at 1 kHz with 10 % THD, and the subwoofer is rated at 30 watts RMS into 4 ohms at 100 Hz with 10 % THD. Frequency response spans 55 Hz to 20 kHz and both satellites and subwoofer specify an 80 dB A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio. These figures describe continuous performance rather than short bursts, so the system maintains its rated output during extended gaming sessions or movie playback.
