This adapter kit converts a CFexpress Type B slot into an NVME 2230 SSD socket. It is built for photographers and videographers who need high-speed storage in DSLR, cinema or mirrorless cameras that accept CFexpress Type B cards. The aluminium alloy shell protects the connector during repeated insertions. No SSD is included; the user must supply a 2230 module.

Installation experience and common pitfalls

The board slides into the camera like a standard CFexpress Type B card and the 2230 SSD is secured inside the alloy shell. The only critical constraint is SSD thickness: the module must be thinner than 2.2 mm or it will not fit. Read and write speeds of up to 1000-2000 MB/s are possible but actual performance depends on the chosen SSD, host device and usage conditions.

Deciding specification

Bus interface is NVME PCIe Gen3x2 in the CFexpress Type B form factor. If the camera requires a different protocol or a larger physical card this adapter will not work. Buyers who need a Type A form factor or a native CFexpress card without an SSD installed should look elsewhere.
