DC 7.9x5.4mm to USB-C 140W adapter
This adapter converts a DC 7.9x5.4mm barrel input into a USB-C output delivering up to 140W. It is intended for users who want to power USB-C laptops, tablets or phones from an existing 135W or 140W barrel-type charger. The unit contains a built-in PD emulator trigger that negotiates the 20V 7A profile required for maximum output.
Limited to 18V-20V DC input and PD/QC protocols
The converter only accepts a DC input range of 18V to 20V at 140W, so it cannot be used with lower-voltage barrel supplies or standard USB-A sources. Output negotiation is restricted to USB Power Delivery and Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 profiles, providing fixed voltages of 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V at the listed current steps. Devices that require proprietary charging handshakes or voltages outside this set will not charge at full speed.
20V 7A PD trigger decides compatibility
The single specification that determines whether this adapter works for a given device is the built-in 20V 7A Power Delivery trigger. Only USB-C devices that support the 20V/7A PDO (140W) can draw the maximum rating; hardware limited to 100W, 65W or lower PD profiles will negotiate down to their highest supported level. Buyers must confirm their device accepts 20V at 7A before purchase.

Questions about this item
Should I pick this 140W adapter or a lower-wattage model for my 100W laptop?
Choose the 140W version; it negotiates 5V, 9V, 15V or 20V up to 100W for your laptop and still works with 65W or phone chargers.
What does the 140W rating mean when I plug it into my laptop?
The adapter can deliver up to 140W at 20V 7A, but your laptop will only draw its rated 100W, 65W or lower PD profile automatically.
Does the DC 7.9x5.4mm barrel plug limit the power I can get over USB-C?
The barrel accepts 18V-20V input up to 140W, and the built-in PD trigger passes the full 20V 7A capability to the USB-C port.
