What this adapter connects
The LORDWORLD adapter lets you attach an M-key M.2 module in the 2260 or 2280 form factor to a PCI Express slot running at x1, x4, x8 or x16 electrical width. It is aimed at builders who need to add NVMe storage or another M-key device to a desktop board that lacks a native M.2 socket.
Before you order
Verify that your motherboard has a free PCI Express slot with the required mechanical length for the cable end you will use. Confirm the M.2 module you plan to install is M-keyed and either 2260 or 2280 length, because other keyings or sizes will not fit. Ensure the system BIOS can boot from or recognise a drive connected through the PCI Express bus rather than a native M.2 controller.
Under sustained load
The flexible cable is rated for 25000 bend cycles, so repeated chassis movement or vibration will not degrade the electrical connection during long transfers. Because the link negotiates at the slot's native PCI Express generation, throughput remains stable for the duration of large sequential reads or writes without thermal throttling from the adapter itself.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter include a cable for the PCIe slot or must I buy one separately?
The product ships with a flexible cable that connects the M.2 M-key socket to a PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot, so no separate cable is required.
Which M.2 lengths does this adapter support?
It accepts M.2 2260 and 2280 form factors, covering the two most common NVMe drive sizes.
What bandwidth will an NVMe drive see when installed through this adapter?
The drive runs at the PCIe lane width of the slot you use — x1, x4, x8 or x16 — so performance scales with the motherboard slot chosen.
