What the adapter does
This LORDWORLD adapter lets you install an M.2 NVME or SATA B Key solid-state drive into a PCIe 3.0 X4, X8 or X16 slot. It accepts drive lengths from 2230 to 2280 and is aimed at builders who want to add fast storage to a board that lacks a native M.2 connector.
Interface and speed limits
The card uses the PCIe 3.0 bus, so an NVME drive will run at Gen 3 speeds even if the drive itself supports a newer generation. A SATA-based B Key drive will operate at its native SATA throughput because the adapter does not convert the protocol. The slot width (X4, X8 or X16) does not increase the bandwidth beyond the drive's own link.
Check before ordering
Verify that your motherboard has a free PCIe 3.0 X4, X8 or X16 slot and that the BIOS can boot from an add-in M.2 device. Ensure the drive you plan to use is an M Key NVME or a B Key SATA model in the 2230 to 2280 length range. This adapter will not work with M Key SATA drives or with B Key NVME drives.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 2230 or 2280 size for my SSD?
The adapter accepts both 2230 and 2280 lengths, so choose the one that matches your drive.
What does the PCIe 3.0 x4 link mean for my NVME drive speed?
It provides a PCIe 3.0 x4 connection, which sets the maximum bandwidth for the NVME SSD.
Can I use a SATA-based B-key drive in the M-key slot?
Yes, the card converts a SATA-based B-key drive to fit an M-key PCIe slot.
