Portable NVMe Enclosure

The LORDWORLD PWM2-BK is an ultra-slim aluminum enclosure that turns an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD into a portable USB-C drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors with M-key or B&M-key pinouts. A tool-free push-cover tray makes installation fast and the three-layer cooling system uses a silicone pad, heatsink vest and alloy body to manage thermals. Intelligent sleep activates after ten minutes of inactivity to extend SSD life.

For Mobile Professionals

This enclosure suits users who need high-speed external storage across PCs, laptops, Macs, Linux machines, Android phones, smart TVs, routers or a PS4. Plug-and-play operation requires no drivers. It will not work with M.2 SATA SSDs or PCIe AHCI drives, so buyers with those drive types should look elsewhere. The single USB-C interface also means systems lacking a Type-C port cannot connect it without an adapter.

10 Gbps Bandwidth Headroom

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection delivers up to 1000 MB/s, letting the enclosure saturate most PCIe Gen 3 NVMe drives in sequential workloads. Thunderbolt 3 hosts are also supported for compatible systems. Very fast PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5 SSDs will hit the 10 Gbps ceiling, so their peak throughput cannot be realised. Sustained writes on demanding drives stay cooler thanks to the integrated thermal solution.

Questions about this item

Do I need to supply my own M.2 NVMe PCIe M-key or B&M-key SSD in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 size?

Yes, the enclosure accepts M.2 NVMe PCIe M-key and B&M-key drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths; M.2 PCIe AHCI and SATA SSDs are not supported.

Will this adapter work with a Thunderbolt 3 port on my laptop?

The USB-C interface is Thunderbolt 3 compatible, so it will operate at up to 10 Gbps when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port.

How can I confirm the enclosure is delivering the expected performance after setup?

Run a sequential read test on the mounted drive; sustained speeds approaching 1000 MB/s indicate the 10 Gbps USB 3.2 link is functioning correctly.
