Surveillance audio add-on

This three-pack supplies outdoor-ready microphones that connect to CCTV cameras or recorders through RCA plugs. Each unit draws 6 to 12 V DC and includes a 13-inch lead. The built-in preamplifier provides high gain with automatic level control and a sensitivity trimmer for tuning pickup. Rated lifespan exceeds 5000 hours of continuous operation.

Installers adding sound to IP or analogue cameras

The microphones suit DVR, VCR, TV or low-frequency amplifier inputs that accept AV connections. They are not suited for systems that require balanced audio, digital audio interfaces or PoE-powered microphones. Buyers needing longer cable runs or adjustable pickup patterns should consider other solutions. Indoor-only installations may not need the weather-resistant housing.

RCA connector with 13-inch cable

The fixed RCA plug and short 13-inch cable determine whether the microphone reaches the recorder or camera input without extension. Frequency response spans 300 to 5500 Hz, covering speech intelligibility for surveillance use. Verify that the target device supplies 6 to 12 V DC and accepts an RCA audio input before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 13-inch RCA cable reach my older DVR that only has AV inputs?

The 13-inch cable with RCA connectors plugs directly into any device accepting AV input such as DVRs, VCRs or TVs, so it will connect without an adapter.

How can I verify the microphone is picking up sound correctly after installation?

Listen for clear audio within the 300 to 5500 Hz response range; the built-in preamp provides high gain with auto level and sensitivity adjustment for immediate feedback.

Does the three-pack include the 6 to 12 V power supply or must I buy it separately?

The pack contains three microphones each with a 13-inch RCA cable; a 6 to 12 V DC power source is not included and must be sourced separately.
