Reversible adapter connects USB 3.0 20-pin headers to USB 2.0 9-pin motherboard ports at 480 Mbps, two-pack included

  • Connect USB 3.0 20-pin devices to USB 2.0 motherboards
  • Connect USB 2.0 9-pin devices to USB 3.0 motherboards
  • Reversible housing simplifies internal installation
  • Two adapters included for multiple connections
  • 480Mbps data speed for USB 3.0 devices

Purpose and audience

This two-pack of reversible adapters bridges USB 2.0 9-pin headers and USB 3.0 20-pin headers. It suits builders who need to connect a modern front-panel device to an older motherboard, or a legacy device to a newer board.

Build integration

Each adapter converts the header gender and pin count so a single cable can plug in either direction. The pair frees up the need to hunt for a matching header or to replace a case front panel, letting the existing internal wiring stay in place.

Sustained behaviour

Data moves at 480Mbps when a USB 3.0 device runs through the USB 2.0 link, so throughput stays at USB 2.0 levels during long transfers. The passive design adds no active components that could throttle or overheat under continuous use.
