Five-Drawer Lateral File

The Lorell 43516 is a 42-inch wide receding lateral file finished in putty. It provides five drawers with heavy-duty ball-bearing slides for smooth operation. The top two drawers include roll-out binder storage while the lower three feature receding fronts with roll-out shelves. A core-removable lock and dual lock bars secure the unit.

Offices needing high-density side-to-side filing

This cabinet suits workspaces that store letter, legal or A4 folders in a single 42-inch wide footprint. The interlock system prevents multiple drawers opening at once for stability. Buyers who need front-to-back filing rails or pre-installed dividers should consider other configurations.

Receding drawers with roll-out shelves

Every drawer above the bottom uses a receding front and roll-out shelf so files slide toward the user. The bottom drawer has a fixed front. Included hangrails handle side-to-side filing of letter, legal or A4 folders. Four adjustable leveling guides and a reinforced double base keep the 68-inch tall cabinet stable on uneven floors.

Questions about this item

Will the ball-bearing slide suspension on the five drawers need periodic lubrication?

The heavy-duty three-piece ball-bearing slides are designed for smooth movement without routine lubrication; keep tracks clear of debris for continued performance.

Which component reaches its limit first when multiple drawers are fully loaded day after day?

The interlock system prevents more than one drawer extending at a time, so the slide suspension on a single fully loaded drawer carries the full weight first.

Does the cabinet generate any fan noise or heat during continuous daily operation?

The lateral file has no powered components, so it produces no fan noise, heat, or electrical draw while in use.
