Space-Saving Bulletin Bar

The Lorell 49535BD is a 48-inch cork strip designed for offices, classrooms or home workspaces that need a narrow display area above whiteboards or chalkboards. Its self-healing cork surface resists pinholes and fading, keeping a professional appearance over time. The anodized aluminum frame adds rigidity while staying light enough for simple wall mounting. Multiple bars can be aligned side by side to extend the display length as required.

Straightforward Wall Mounting

The bar mounts directly to any suitable wall using standard fixings, so no specialised brackets or tools are needed beyond a drill and level. Because the frame is a single aluminium extrusion, alignment is easy when butting several units together for a longer run. The main issue installers encounter is locating solid wall studs or anchors across the full 48-inch span to prevent sagging under heavier loads. Ensure the mounting surface is flat; uneven plaster or tile can create gaps that weaken the hold.

Pre-Installation Checks

Verify that the intended wall section is at least 48 inches wide and free of obstructions such as light switches, outlets or trim that would interfere with the bar or its pins. Confirm the wall material can accept screws or anchors rated for the expected display weight; hollow drywall without studs may require toggle bolts. If you plan to join multiple bars, measure the total run first to ensure the combined length fits the available space. The product is sold as a single unit, so order the exact quantity needed for the desired display length.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the self-healing cork surface is working after mounting the 48-inch board?

Press a pin into the cork and remove it; the hole should close visibly within a short time, leaving the surface smooth and ready for reuse.

What comes in the box for the Lorell 49535BD and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the 48-inch cork bulletin bar with anodized aluminum frame and mounting hardware; additional bars for extending the display length are sold separately.

Which version of the 49535BD should I choose for a 48-inch wide wall space?

The 49535BD is a single 48-inch wide strip; choose it when you need exactly that width, and add more bars only if you want a longer continuous run.
