Right- or left-hand return shell

The Lorell 69389 return shell is a 35" wide by 24" deep worksurface that extends an executive desk on either the right or left side. A 1" thick mahogany laminate top with 3 mm PVC edges provides a durable writing surface. Two grommet holes route cables neatly through the top. The unit ships as a single piece and reaches 29-1/2" high when assembled.

Buyers needing a reversible return surface

This shell suits offices that want a matching return that can be handed at assembly to fit the room layout. It is not for buyers who need a freestanding desk, a credenza with drawers, or a surface deeper than 24". It also does not suit anyone requiring a finish other than mahogany.

35" width decides fit

The 35" overall width is the single measurement that determines whether this return aligns with the parent desk and clears surrounding furniture. If the available gap is narrower or wider, the shell will not integrate correctly.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the return shell is assembled correctly and level?

After assembly, confirm the unit measures 35" wide by 24" deep by 29-1/2" high, the two top grommet holes align for cord routing, and the adjustable feet are set so the shell sits stable on the floor.

What components come in the box and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the 1"-thick laminate top with 3mm PVC edges, modesty panel, hardware and adjustable feet for one return shell; a matching desk or credenza to complete the L-shape is sold separately.

Should I choose the right-hand or left-hand configuration for model 69389?

The shell can be configured for either right- or left-hand placement, but the choice must be made during assembly; pick the orientation that matches the desk or credenza you are attaching it to.
