Compact pedestal for office storage

The Lorell 69559 is a file/file pedestal designed to attach to a desk, credenza or return. It provides two drawers for letter or legal-size documents in a 16 by 22 inch footprint. The Weathered Charcoal finish suits casual workplace settings.

Laminate construction and hardware

High-quality laminate surfaces resist daily wear in busy environments. Metal-to-metal cam-lock connections keep the unit rigid after assembly. At 78.7 pounds the pedestal stays planted on the floor without shifting.

Fixed attachment and unfinished top

The unit must be secured to a larger worksurface, so it cannot stand alone or be moved freely. Its unfinished top is intended to sit beneath a matching desktop rather than serve as a visible surface. Buyers needing a mobile or freestanding file cabinet should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Lorell 69559 pedestal to my existing desk, and what is the common mistake?

Use the metal-to-metal cam-lock connections to secure it to a desk, credenza or return; the step often missed is tightening every cam lock fully so the unit does not shift.

What maintenance or replacement will the file/file drawers need over time?

The ball-bearing slides may need occasional lubrication; if a drawer front becomes damaged, order a matching Lorell Essentials replacement front rather than replacing the whole pedestal.

What limit appears first when the pedestal is fully loaded day after day?

The 78.7 lb unit weight and cam-lock joints set the practical load limit; exceeding the drawer capacity for letter/legal files will stress the connections before the laminate shows wear.
