Product Identity

The Lorell 85563 is a mesh mid-back chair built for desk work, measuring 25-3/8"x25-3/8"x40" overall. It combines a high-strength elastic nylon mesh back with a fabric-upholstered seat and a 26" diameter reinforced nylon five-star base. Pneumatic seat-height adjustment, independent seat and back angle controls, ratchet back function and 360-degree swivel provide a range of seated positions. Hooded 50mm dual-wheel casters allow smooth movement across hard floors and low-pile carpet.

Fit and Limits

This chair suits individuals up to 275 lb who want breathable mesh support and adjustable armrests with black polypropylene arm racks. The seat measures 20-9/10" wide by 21-3/10" deep, while the back is 19-3/10" wide by 20" high. Buyers needing a headrest, a heavier weight rating, or a larger seat footprint should look at other models.

Deciding Specification

Questions about this item

How do I assemble the 85563 chair and which step causes the most trouble?

Attach the casters to the 26" nylon base, insert the gas lift, then mount the seat and back; the trickiest step is aligning the independent seat-and-back angle levers so both lock securely.

What parts of the 85563 will wear out first and need replacement?

The 50 mm hooded dual-wheel casters and the pneumatic gas-lift cylinder typically wear first; the mesh back and fabric seat are durable but can be replaced if torn.

At what point does the 85563 hit its limit during long sitting sessions?

The 275 lb weight capacity is the hard limit; exceeding it stresses the reinforced nylon base, gas lift and casters, leading to premature failure.
