48-Inch Bridge for L and U Layouts

This Lorell Prominence 2.0 bridge unit spans 48 inches wide and 24 inches deep to connect two single-pedestal desks. The 29-inch height aligns with standard desk surfaces for a continuous worksurface. Espresso thermofused melamine laminate covers a particleboard core for a consistent finish. Adjustable glides compensate for uneven floors.

Suits Offices Building Extended Desk Runs

Buyers assembling L-shaped or U-shaped workstations from matching Prominence 2.0 components will find this bridge integrates directly. The grommet and cord-management cutout keep cables organised across the joint. It is not intended for standalone use or for pairing with desks from other series that differ in height or edge profile.

1-Inch Top Thickness Determines Rigidity

The worksurface is 1 inch thick, which sets the load capacity and screw-holding strength for mounted accessories. Thinner tops may flex under heavy monitors or clamp-on hardware, while thicker tops add weight without proportional stiffness. Verify that your planned monitor arms and privacy screens are rated for 1-inch particleboard before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the thermofused melamine surface need refinishing after heavy daily use?

The 1" thick top uses high-performance laminate rated mar, burn and impact resistant, so routine cleaning is the only upkeep required.

What stops me from adding more bridges to extend the run?

Each bridge spans 48" wide and 24" deep, so room length and the matching single-pedestal desks set the practical limit.

Does the particleboard core sag or get warm when the grommet carries a full power strip all day?

Adjustable glides keep the 29" high frame level, and the laminate surface dissipates normal office-equipment heat without warping.
