Left Return for L-Shape Setups

The Lorell PR2448LES Prominence 2.0 Espresso Laminate Left Return adds a 48-inch wide, 24-inch deep file pedestal to the left side of a right-pedestal desk or credenza. It creates an L-shaped or U-shaped workstation with two locking file drawers on full-extension ball-bearing slides. The 1-inch thick thermofused melamine top resists impact, burns and marring. A modesty panel, built-in hangrail and grommet with cord management complete the office-ready feature set.

Installation Notes and Common Issues

The unit ships flat-packed and requires assembly; expect to spend an hour or more with basic hand tools. Adjustable glides on the base compensate for uneven floors but must be set before the return is bolted to the main desk. The most frequent issue is misaligned drawer fronts caused by an unlevel carcass — check every glide with a spirit level before tightening the connecting hardware. Pre-drilled grommet holes simplify cable routing but leave no alternative positions.

Pre-Order Compatibility Checklist

Verify that the existing desk or credenza has a right-hand pedestal and matching 29-inch worksurface height. Confirm the 48-inch width and 24-inch depth fit the available floor plan and allow clearance for drawer extension. The espresso laminate finish should match other Prominence 2.0 pieces for a uniform look. Ensure the installation area can accommodate the assembled footprint and that doorways allow passage of the largest packaged panels.
