Compatible 15.4-inch Retina replacement

This new LPScreen LP154WT2 (SJAV) panel matches the 15.4-inch WQXGA+ 2880x1800 resolution used in the MacBook Pro A1398. It is an IPS display showing 16.7 million colours at a 60 Hz refresh rate. The unit is a non-touch screen intended as a direct display-only swap for a damaged or faulty original panel.

Build integration and connector fit

Installation requires the existing display assembly, hinges, cables and backlight driver from the host laptop. The panel frees the repairer from sourcing a complete lid assembly, reducing part cost and repair time. Buyers who need a touchscreen layer or a different connector pinout cannot use this model.

Thermals and power in normal use

As a passive LCD component, the screen generates no audible noise and adds negligible heat to the chassis. Power draw is limited to the backlight and panel logic supplied by the laptop’s existing display circuitry. No additional cooling or external power provision is required.

Questions about this item

Will the 60 Hz refresh rate limit motion clarity during long editing sessions?

The panel runs at a fixed 60 Hz, so fast scrolling or video playback will show the same frame pacing throughout the day.

Does the IPS panel generate noticeable heat or fan noise after hours of continuous use?

The display itself produces minimal heat and has no moving parts; any audible fan noise comes from the laptop's own cooling system.

Must the MacBook Pro A1398 already have a 2880x1800 WQXGA+ panel for this replacement to work?

Yes, this screen matches the 2880x1800 resolution and 15.4 inch size used in that model, so the existing video cable and mounting points align.
