What this screen replaces

This is a brand-new 16-inch WUXGA panel built as a direct replacement for the NE160WUM-NX2 model. It delivers a 1920 by 1200 resolution at a 165 Hz refresh rate and uses a standard 40-pin connector. The matte surface has no touch layer, so it suits repair jobs where the original display was non-touch.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive LCD component the panel generates no audible noise and has no active cooling requirements. Power consumption is limited to the backlight and driver circuitry, which operate at typical laptop panel levels. The 250 cd/m² brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio are achieved within normal notebook thermal envelopes.

What the bundled items change

The package contains only the display panel itself; no brackets, cables, tools or software are included. Installation therefore depends on reusing the original hinges, bezel and video cable from the laptop. The 100 percent sRGB colour coverage and 89-degree viewing angles in all directions are inherent to the panel and require no calibration utility.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 40-pin connector on this 16 inch screen without damaging the pins?

Align the 40-pin cable carefully with the socket on the panel and press straight in until it seats fully; the step people get wrong is forcing the connector at an angle which bends the delicate pins.

What maintenance or replacement will the backlight need over time?

The 250 cd/m² backlight will gradually dim after extended use; when brightness drops below a comfortable level the entire panel must be replaced as the backlight is not user-serviceable.

At what point does the 165Hz refresh rate become the limiting factor during sustained gaming?

The 165Hz panel refresh is the first limit you hit; once the GPU pushes frames faster than 165 per second the display cannot show the extra frames and motion clarity plateaus.
