Adds a 1000 Mbps SFP fibre port to any USB 3.0, 2.0 or 1.1 host with Realtek RTL8153 and VLAN tagging
The LR-LINK LREC3210PF-SFP adds a 1000Mbps SFP fiber port to any system with a USB 3.0, 2.0 or 1.1 socket. It uses a Realtek RTL8153 controller and supports IEEE 802.3az for energy-efficient Ethernet. The aluminum shell aids heat dissipation during operation. It suits users who need fiber connectivity without an internal PCIe slot.
The adapter maintains gigabit throughput over extended transfers using the USB 3.0 interface. It supports Jumbo Frames and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging for managed network traffic. PXE, DPDK and iSCSI boot or storage protocols function across long sessions. Driver support spans Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and VMware ESXi kernels.
The passively cooled aluminum enclosure operates silently without a fan. Power is drawn directly from the USB bus, eliminating the need for an external supply. The IEEE 802.3az standard reduces energy use during low-link utilisation. The compact form factor fits in tight workspaces where active cooling is impractical.
