CacheVault Kit for 9361-8i

The LSICVM02 CacheVault kit is designed for the Broadcom, Avago or LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB of onboard cache. It provides flash-backed write-cache protection so that data held in the controller cache survives unexpected power loss. The kit is intended for server administrators who need to safeguard cached writes on this specific RAID card.

Bracket and flash module included

The package supplies the CacheVault flash module and a mounting bracket that fits the 9361-8i card. The bracket secures the module to the controller so the supercapacitor and flash memory remain firmly attached inside the chassis. No additional software or cables are required beyond what the controller already uses. Buyers who need cache protection for a different RAID model or a larger cache size cannot use this kit.

Questions about this item

Will the CacheVault's super-capacitor need replacement after a certain period?

The CacheVault kit includes a super-capacitor module that typically requires replacement every two to three years to maintain reliable flash-backup protection.

What is the first limitation encountered during sustained heavy write workloads?

The 1GB cache capacity on the 9361-8i controller is the primary limit; once saturated, write performance drops to the speed of the underlying drives.
