Eight-port host-bus adapter with PCIe 2.0 interface and two Mini SAS SFF 8087 connectors running LSI SAS 2008 firmware in IT mode for ZFS, FreeNAS and unRAID
This LSI SAS9211-8i host bus adapter uses the SAS 2008 controller and runs HBA IT mode firmware. It connects to the host via a PCIe 2.0 interface and provides two internal Mini SAS SFF 8087 connectors. The card supports SATA and SAS drives at 6Gbps data transfer rates. It is supplied new as a standalone controller card.
This card suits builders who need direct drive access for software RAID or filesystem management without hardware RAID abstraction. It is not for users who require on-board hardware RAID processing or bootable RAID volumes. Buyers needing external drive connectivity or a different host interface should consider other options.
Measured against everything we stock in Ethernet Cards & NICs, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.
No published specifications for this item yet.
The host interface is PCIe 2.0 so the card fits directly into any PCIe 2.0 or newer slot without an adapter.
The firmware ships as HBA IT mode; the BIOS screen will show Initiator Target mode and present each drive individually to ZFS FreeNAS or unRAID.
