SKU CH-JH29-FJ0V5

Adds eight internal Sata and Sas ports at 12 Gb/s through a PCIe 3.0 low-profile host bus adapter

  • 12Gb/s SAS/SATA throughput for fast storage access
  • PCIe 3.0 x8 interface matches modern server platforms
  • Eight internal ports connect multiple drives simultaneously
  • Low-profile bracket fits compact chassis designs

LSI SAS9300-8i 12Gb/s HBA

The LSI SAS9300-8i is a 12Gb/s PCIe 3.0 host bus adapter with eight internal Sata and Sas ports. A low-profile bracket is included for installation in compact server chassis. It connects storage drives directly to the system bus.

Suited for storage arrays needing eight lanes

Builders expanding drive counts beyond eight ports should consider a different adapter. Systems without a PCIe 3.0 slot cannot use this card. Environments requiring external connectivity need a separate solution. Buyers wanting on-board RAID processing must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What PCIe slot generation and width does the SAS9300-8i need to reach 12 Gb/s per port?

The adapter uses a PCIe 3.0 interface; install it in a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot to deliver the full 12 Gb/s bandwidth on all eight ports.

Can the SAS9300-8i connect to older 6 Gb/s Sata or Sas drives I already own?

Yes, the 12 Gb/s controller is backwards compatible with 6 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s Sata and Sas drives, so existing drives will work at their rated speeds.
