What this adapter does

The LUOM 1 to 2 RJ45 splitter lets two devices share a single Ethernet cable at the same time. It accepts one 8-pin cable and provides two female RJ45 ports for Cat 5, 5e, 6 or 7 patch leads. A USB power lead is required for the simultaneous dual-port operation.

What the USB power cable changes

Without the supplied 1.2 m USB cable the adapter cannot run both outputs together. With 3.3 V USB power each port delivers up to 100 Mbps while the combined input handles up to 1000 Mbps. The shielded PCB and metal housing protect the split signals from electromagnetic interference.

What to verify before ordering

Your router or switch must supply a full eight-wire Ethernet run to the splitter input. Each connected device needs its own Cat 5 or better patch cable to reach the adapter. The two ports cannot exceed 100 Mbps each, so gigabit-only links will not work.
