USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K 60 Hz output

The LUOM BK-CD2 is a 6.6 ft male-to-male cable that connects a USB-C source with DP Alt Mode to a DisplayPort 1.4 display. It delivers up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth, enabling 8K at 60 Hz with 10-bit colour HDR or 4K at 144 Hz for gaming and creative work. Triple shielding and solid copper conductors protect signal integrity over the full length. The cable is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1.

Replaces legacy USB-C to HDMI adapters limited

Users moving from older adapters that top out at 4K 60 Hz gain the headroom for 8K 60 Hz, 5K 60 Hz and high-refresh 2K 240 Hz signals without adding an active converter. The step up is worthwhile when the host supports Thunderbolt 4 or 3 and the monitor requires HBR3 bandwidth for HDR or multi-stream transport. It does not suit buyers who need a second card or more storage than the cable provides.

Maintains stable 32.4 Gbps throughput during

The solid copper conductors and triple shielding keep the link at full HBR3 speed without the flicker or audio drop-outs that appear on thinner cables after prolonged use. DSC 1.2 compression sustains visually lossless 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz output for long gaming or rendering sessions. MacBook clamshell mode remains reliable when the host is powered.

Questions about this item

What USB-C port standard does the LUOM BK-CD2 require on the host device?

The host must support USB Type-C DisplayPort Alt Mode; Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports meet this requirement.

Which connector orientation should be checked first during setup?

Ensure the USB-C male plug is fully seated in the host and the DisplayPort 1.4 male plug locks into the monitor; the cable is directional from source to display.

What bandwidth limit governs future resolution upgrades on this cable?

The cable is rated for 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth, the ceiling for DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC 1.2 compression.
