14-in-1 USB-C Docking Station Silver

The LUOM DS14IN1 expands a single USB-C port into fourteen connections. It adds Gigabit Ethernet, 4K HDMI, 1080p VGA, audio, SD and TF card readers, three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and two USB-C data ports. An 87 W Power Delivery input keeps the host laptop charged while every peripheral is active.

Check host port and display limits

Verify that the laptop USB-C port supports video alt mode and Power Delivery; a data-only port will not drive the HDMI or VGA outputs. The HDMI output is capped at 4K 30 Hz and VGA at 1080p 60 Hz, so higher refresh rates or resolutions are not available. Total downstream bandwidth is shared across the five high-speed USB ports and the network adapter.

Thermals noise and power draw

The aluminium enclosure dissipates heat passively with no fan, so operation is silent. Under full load with 87 W pass-through charging the housing becomes warm but remains within safe limits. Idle power draw is negligible and the dock adds no audible noise to a quiet workspace.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need a separate power adapter?

The package includes the DS14IN1 hub, its integrated USB-C host cable and a manual. To use the 87 W Power Delivery charging port you must supply your own USB-C power adapter.

Which video output should I pick — the 4K/30 Hz HDMI or the 1080p/60 Hz VGA?

Choose HDMI for a single 4K monitor at 30 Hz or VGA for a legacy 1080p display at 60 Hz; the hub can drive both simultaneously but total bandwidth is shared.

What does the 5 Gbps rating on the three USB 3.0 Type-A ports mean for real file transfers?

The 5 Gbps link is the electrical signalling rate; actual throughput depends on the attached drive and system overhead, so peak copy speeds will be lower than the raw figure.
