What this cable does

The LUOM Essager HCL100W is a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 100W power delivery at 20V/5A. It includes an LED display that shows real-time charging power. The right-angle connector reduces strain in tight spaces. A two-pack provides 3.3ft length per cable for desk or travel use.

Installation and common issues

Plug the cable into a USB-C port on both the charger and the device. The E-marker chip and 56K ohm resistor handle negotiation automatically. Fast charging only activates with a 100W or higher USB-C wall charger. Data transfer runs at USB 2.0 480Mbps, not USB 3.0 speeds, so large file moves take longer than on a 5Gbps or 10Gbps link.

Sustained load behaviour

The nylon braided jacket and reinforced strain relief are tested to 40000 bends, while the core survives 14000 cycles. Smart chip protection regulates current and voltage during extended sessions. The cable charges a MacBook Pro to 86%, an iPad Pro to 89%, a Samsung S20 to 96% and a Switch to 90% within 35 minutes, and reaches 88% in 30 minutes on compatible devices.
