Cable build and length

This LUOM Essager XCA7A cable connects a USB-A port to a USB-C device and measures 6.6FT. It uses a nylon-braided jacket and an aluminium alloy shell at each connector. An E-Marker chip is built in to negotiate power delivery up to 100W at 20V and 7A.

Who this suits and who it does not

The cable suits owners of Galaxy S22, S21 Ultra, S20, iPad Pro 2020 and 2021, Tab S8, Mi 11, 12, Redmi Note 10, 11, Pixel 5, 6, Switch and GoPro Hero 9 who need fast charging and 480Mbps data sync. It will not help buyers who require a USB-C to USB-C cable for chargers that lack a USB-A port.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the 7A current rating combined with the E-Marker chip, which enables 100W Power Delivery over a USB-A connector; without that chip a standard USB-A port cannot deliver more than 2.4A.

Questions about this item

What USB-A power source is needed to deliver the 20 V / 7 A output?

A USB-A charger or port that supports 20 V at 7 A (100 W) is required; standard 5 V / 2.4 A ports will only provide slower charging.

Will this cable charge a Galaxy S9 or Note 8 at their maximum speed?

Yes, the cable’s 7 A capacity exceeds the S9 and Note 8 requirements, so they will charge at their full supported rate.

How can I verify the cable is operating at 100 W after connecting it?

The built-in E-Marker chip communicates 100 W capability to the source; a USB power meter showing 20 V and up to 7 A confirms full performance.
