HDMI to Dual SDI Converter

The LUOM HDMI2SDI converts a single HDMI source into two SDI outputs for broadcast and streaming workflows. It accepts HDMI input up to 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 Hz and delivers 3G-SDI or HD-SDI signals at bit rates of 2.970 Gbit/s and 1.485 Gbit/s. The unit is powered directly from the HDMI connection, so no external supply is required. It suits camera operators and live-production crews who need reliable long-cable runs.

Upgrading from Single-Output Adapters

Replacing a single-output HDMI-to-SDI box with this dual-output model lets you feed two SDI monitors or recorders simultaneously without a distribution amplifier. The jump is worth it when you need identical programme and confidence feeds, or when you must drive a local SDI display and a remote deck over 100 metres of 3G-SDI cable. It does not serve workflows that require SDI-to-HDMI conversion or bi-directional signal paths.

Build Integration

The converter fits into a rack or fly-pack via its metal chassis and measures 5.83 by 4.49 by 2.44 inches. One HDMI Type A input and two SDI BNC outputs connect directly to cameras, switchers such as ATEM (set to 720p@60 Hz), and SDI displays up to 300 metres away for SD-SDI. Embedded audio travels with the video, and the USB port provides a control interface on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android without driver installation.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the LUOM HDMI2SDI converter so I can confirm it fits my rack or bag?

The unit measures 5.83 x 4.49 x 2.44 inches, making it compact enough for portable kits or tight rack spaces.

How do I power the converter and what is the common mistake to avoid during setup?

It draws power from the HDMI source via the Type A input with no external supply needed; the common error is forgetting to force an ATEM switcher to 720P@60Hz before connecting.

Which parts or cables will need replacement first in a daily broadcast workflow?

The HDMI Type A plug and the two BNC SDI cables see the most insertions, so keep spare certified HDMI and 3G-SDI cables on hand for long runs up to 100 metres.
