8x8 HDMI Matrix for multi-display routing

The LUOM OZJ8 is an 8x8 HDMI matrix switch that routes up to eight 4K HDR sources to eight independent displays. It accepts eight HDMI inputs and provides eight HDMI outputs with full matrix switching. Any output can select any input without affecting the others. The unit is designed for installers and AV professionals who need simultaneous distribution across multiple screens.

Replaces basic splitters and single-output switches

Unlike a simple splitter that duplicates one source everywhere, this matrix lets each display show a different 4K source at the same time. It upgrades installations that previously relied on manual cable swapping or multiple single-input switchers. The jump is worth it when a venue needs flexible, independent routing to eight screens from a central rack.

Handles 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 and downscales per output

Each output supports 3840x2160 at 60Hz with YUV 4:4:4 colour and 8, 10, or 12-bit deep colour, plus 4096x2160 resolution. Maximum bandwidth is 18Gbps at 600MHz. Input cables should stay under 8 metres with AWG26 HDMI 2.0b cable; 4K transmission is reliable up to 5 metres while 1080p reaches 20 metres. Per-output downscaling converts 4K to 1080p when a display cannot accept the higher signal. Audio passes through formats including LPCM 7.1, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. Control is via IR remote, IR extender and RS232.

Questions about this item

What rack space does the 5.91 x 2.36 x 0.79 inch chassis require?

The unit measures 5.91 inches wide, 2.36 inches deep and .79 inches high, so it fits on a standard shelf or in a 1U rack tray without special brackets.

Which control method must be configured first — IR, RS232 or front-panel buttons — to avoid conflicting routing commands?

Power the matrix, connect sources and displays, then set the desired input-output map using the front-panel buttons before enabling IR or RS232 control; this prevents the remote or serial commands from overwriting an unset routing table.

When should the HDMI cables be replaced to maintain 4K 60Hz 18Gbps performance?

Replace any cable longer than 5 metres AWG26 when 4K 60Hz signals show sparkles or dropouts; for 1080p runs the limit extends to 20 metres AWG26 before signal degradation requires new cables.
