What to check before ordering

Both computers must provide video and data over USB-C with DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Thunderbolt 4 ports are required for 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz operation; Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C Gen 2 ports max out at 4K 60 Hz. The switch needs external power via the included USB-A to USB-C cable, and your monitor cables must not exceed 2.0 metres for 8K signals.

How it fits into a build

The switch sits between the two USB-C hosts and the display, freeing desk space by eliminating a second monitor, keyboard and mouse.
