USB Multimedia Volume Knob

The LUOM OZU8 is a compact aluminium rotary controller that connects via USB and provides tactile volume adjustment, mute and track-skipping for Windows or macOS systems. It is aimed at streamers, office workers and anyone who wants instant physical control over audio levels without reaching for on-screen sliders. The device draws power from the host port and requires no driver installation.

Plug-and-Play USB Interface Limits

The knob operates over a standard USB connection and is compatible with USB 3.0, Micro-USB and USB-C ports using the supplied cable. Because it uses the host computer’s audio stack, it cannot function on devices that lack USB audio class support or on systems where the OS blocks generic HID volume controls. No Bluetooth pairing is involved despite the supplier title mentioning Bluetooth-compatible.

Aluminium Build and Rotary Encoder

The single specification that determines suitability is the 97x61x17 mm aluminium body with a solid rotary shaft, which gives a precise detented feel and survives heavy daily use. Buyers who need motorised faders, per-application mixing or wireless operation will not find those features here. The package includes the knob, a USB-to-USB-C cable and a user manual.

Questions about this item

What does the 97×61×17 mm size mean for desk space?

The knob occupies roughly a 97 mm by 61 mm footprint and stands 17 mm tall, so it fits beside a keyboard without crowding mouse movement.

How does the single USB connection work once plugged into a real PC?

The controller draws power and sends volume, mute and track commands over one USB link; Windows 10, 8, 7 and macOS recognise it instantly with no driver install.

Which USB standard does the supplied cable use and what does that limit?

The included USB-to-USB-C cable runs at USB 3.0 speeds, giving ample bandwidth for the knob’s control data while keeping the connection stable.
