Adds wired Gigabit Ethernet to any USB 3.0 port with driver-free setup on Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS
The LUOM SLMU101 adds a wired Gigabit Ethernet port to any device with a USB 3.0 Type-A socket. It connects through a short 5-inch cable to an RJ45 jack and draws power directly from the bus. The adapter is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 hosts while still delivering 1000 BASE-T throughput when linked to a Gigabit switch.
This adapter targets ultrabooks, MacBooks, or desktops whose onboard NIC has failed or is missing entirely. It also serves technicians who need a separate management interface on a test bench. Buyers running Windows RT, Android, Wii, Wii U, or Switch cannot use this device because the manufacturer explicitly lists those platforms as unsupported.
The single decisive specification is the upstream connector: a standard USB 3.0 Type-A plug. If your host only offers USB-C, micro-USB, or legacy USB 2.0 ports without a compatible adapter, this dongle will not fit or will fall back to 10/100 Mbps speeds. Verify the port on your machine before ordering.

It supports 10/100/1000 BASE-T and will auto-negotiate down to 10 or 100 Mbps on older network equipment.
Check for a new Ethernet interface in your OS network settings and confirm link lights on the RJ45 port when a cable is connected.
